Bio
Eduardo Gaspar Polo Baader is a Spanish-German musician whose work spans historical flutes, contemporary performance, and multisensory concert experiences. Drawn to sound as a form of energy, his playing focuses on colour, cadence, and the subtle shifts that bring audiences into a state of presence and shared aliveness.
He has performed as a soloist with Sophie Gent and the Orquesta Barroca de la Universidad de Salamanca, and has appeared at festivals such as the Utrecht Early Music Festival, Laus Polyphoniae (Antwerp), and the Festival de Saintes. He was selected for the International Young Artists Presentation (IYAP) in 2024. After having spent 8 years in The Netherlands, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Modern Flute at Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg and his Master’s degree in Historical Flutes at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague (cum laude), he is now based in Spain. There, he maintains an active chamber music life, premieres new works for traverso and modern flute, and explores lesser-known eighteenth-century repertoire.
Alongside his performing career, he composes, teaches, researches, and works at the intersection of music, ecology, and social engagement. His artistic practice includes Irish folk music, activist work, and performances that bring together food, music, and storytelling.
